Documentary Update ! A “rough cut” screening will be viewed at Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter 500, in Roseville, CA. May 18, 2010 at 7:00 PM. I will collect feedback sheets and then the final editing will be done. Expect forthcoming announcements about the future of the documentary over next few weeks . I also acknowledge that my effort to keep those that are interested in the progress of this project is challenging.
Especially when this is a one person effort. I mentioned in the July 8th, 2008 Press Release; applying to the Sundance Documentary Fund. Unfortunately, I was not selected. However, I have continued to contact philanthropic organizations, wealthy individuals and non profits for the finishing funds. The following is what I published on July 2nd, 2008.
" On July 2nd, 2008, I submitted “A Weekend to Remember; the 25th Anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.” Presentation package to Sundance Documentary Fund for “Work-In-Progress” funding to complete the project. The Sundance Documentary Fund assists independent filmmakers with funding for either “Development” or “Work-In-Progress.” The panel of the film industry, will review and either accept or reject film projects from an estimated 1000 entries. If the panel accepts a film it is then voted upon; only 30 filmmakers will receive grants. Sundance Documentary Fund only contacts those filmmakers that are accepted, and will do so later this year! "

Documentary Update !
|
|
The documentary is now going into Post - Production phase as I mention at the home page of the web site.
Once the search for both the studio work and the professional Narrator is found and the contract is signed for completing all the work, and titles/credits. At that time I will announce thru several of the Army alumni membership newsletters and the "25th Anniversary Memorial" email blast. When I will start accepting orders.
Please direct all inquiries about purchases at sales@archiveservicesbymark.com and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
I would also like to share with everyone that viewing time for each volume(s) of the DVD is about 2 1/2 hours. I will let you know what the total viewing time will be after the professional studios complete their task.
Thank You again for your patience,
Regards,
Mark

Update about the Documentrary Project!
The 25th Anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Video project is taking more time than I anticipated and I apologize for the delay. I am Happy to report that I have over 2 1/2 hours of Friday and Saturday's events that include: Opening Ceremony of the Parade and the Parade itself. Because of the length of some the events that were recorded; and at the Memorial on Veterans Day. I 've decided to issue a Two Volume set. Each DVD will be about 2 3/4 hours long.
The documentary will be available for sale sometime in late Spring, 2008. I appreciate everyone's contribution of photographs, support and espcially being Patient !.
Currently, I am now in the process of finding a Narrator and seeking funding to take the documentary to a Audio Studio for completion. This mean's delivering a quality DVD with a story and "A Weekend to Remember, the 25th Anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial."
Check back for more information about the expected release date and when orders will be accepted.
Thank You,
Mark
